XTermium Download

About XTermium.

XTermium is made by Sotirios Roussis. Here is who makes it, how it is paid for, the licence it comes under, and where to send bugs, security reports and questions.

Who makes it.

Sotirios Roussis writes XTermium and holds its copyright; on GitHub, the profile is xtonousou. The app’s source and its Scoop bucket live under the xtermium organisation on GitHub, where every release is published with its sha256 checksums.

The logo, its animations, the colours and the design system are by dehawk.

How it is paid for.

The app is free: every connection type, on every OS, on any number of machines. Pro is the hosted part, sync between your computers and Terminal Co-op, which have running costs: €2.99 a month or €29.99 a year, excluding VAT. Its checkout is in test mode for now and charges nothing.

Creem, the merchant of record, takes Pro’s payments and adds the VAT. Pricing.

Licence and trademark.

XTermium is licensed under the Apache License 2.0: you may use, change, rename and share it, commercially or not. Every copy and fork must keep LICENSE and the credit in NOTICE. Third-party parts keep their own licences, quoted in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, which the installers carry.

The sync server and the hosted sync service are proprietary; the app talks to them through an open API, described in docs/sync.md. “xtermium” and its logo are trademarks of the author, so forks must use another name.

Bugs, security and support.

Report what broke in the open, where it can be fixed, and keep security problems private. Here is where each one goes.

No cookies on this site.

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser to recognise you. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies, so there is no consent banner. The privacy policy says what the app and the sync server keep.

Get it for Windows, Linux or macOS.

Free and open source. One command fetches the latest build from GitHub, checks its sha256 and installs it; read install.ps1 or install.sh first. Every file and its checksum, Scoop included, are under Downloads, and the .msi, .exe, .zip, .deb, .rpm, AppImage and .dmg are in the latest release on GitHub. The macOS app is not signed by Apple yet: how to open it the first time.
