Terms of service

Last updated 3 November 2026

These terms cover the XTermium website, XTermium accounts and Pro, the sync service. The app itself is free software: the Apache License 2.0 sets how you may use, change and share it, not these terms.

Who provides it

XTermium is made and run by Sotirios Roussis, in Greece (“we” on this page). Pro is sold by Creem as the merchant of record: Creem takes the payment, adds and pays the VAT, and sends your receipt. For anything on this page, write to support@xtermium.com.

Your account

You sign in with an account you already have with another provider, so XTermium keeps no password of yours. Whoever controls that account can reach your XTermium account, so keep it safe. An account is for one person.

Pro and payment

  • Pro costs the price shown in the pricing section when you subscribe, excluding VAT, which Creem adds for your country at checkout.
  • It renews on its own each month or year until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time in Creem’s customer portal. You are not charged again, and Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If the price changes, we email you before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
  • Refunds follow the refund policy.

Your data

Sync is end-to-end encrypted. Your sessions, logins and the rest are sealed on your own devices before they are uploaded, under a key that only your recovery passphrase unlocks, and the passphrase never leaves your devices. We cannot read your data, so we cannot recover it either: if you lose your recovery passphrase, no one, neither we nor a new device, can open the cloud copy. The privacy policy lists what we do store.

Fair use of the sync server

The sync server is shared by everyone who pays for it, so do not abuse it. In particular, do not:

  • store anything in it other than XTermium’s own sync data, or try to get around your account’s storage limit;
  • send it far more requests than syncing needs, by script or by hand, or try to get around its rate limits;
  • try to reach another person’s account or data, or to get around signing in;
  • share, sell or rent out your account;
  • store or pass on unlawful material through it.

We may slow down, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Unless the law or the safety of the service stops us, we tell you why first.

Security research

Good-faith security testing is welcome, within these rules:

  • In scope: xtermium.com, xtermium.gr and the hosts under them (*.xtermium.com, *.xtermium.gr), and nothing else. Creem, the sign-in providers, GitHub, Cloudflare’s own platform, and the networks and other customers of our hosting provider are out of scope.
  • Test only with accounts you made for the test. Do not open, change or delete anyone else’s data; if you reach any, stop there and tell us.
  • No denial of service or load testing, no spam, no social engineering and no physical access.
  • Send what you find to abuse@xtermium.com with the steps to reproduce it, and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you make it public.

Testing that keeps to these rules is authorised, and we will not take legal action over it. The app’s source code you may test on your own machines as you like, under its licence.

Availability

We work to keep sync running, but it comes as it is, without a guaranteed uptime: it may pause for maintenance or for reasons we cannot control. The app keeps working with the data on your devices in the meantime. If we ever stop the sync service, we tell you at least 30 days before and refund the unused part of any period you paid for.

Closing your account

You can delete the cloud copy of your data at any time in the app, under Settings › Account and sync › Delete the cloud copy; while sync stays on, the next sync uploads it again. To delete the account itself, request it on your account page or write to support@xtermium.com; we cancel Pro along with it.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for data you cannot open because a recovery passphrase was lost, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Pro in the twelve months before the claim. None of this limits rights that the law gives you as a consumer and does not let a contract take away.

Law and changes

Greek law governs these terms. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory law and can bring a claim there. We may change these terms; when we do, the date at the top changes, and if the change affects Pro, we email subscribers before it applies.
